Blessed Error?

Yesterday when I was coming back into Rich Marine the low oil warning light and beep on my Optimax went off. 

I visually check my two stroke oil tank every time I use my boat, but it turns out what I thought was the oil line was actually a dirt line on the outside of the container.  So, this morning I filled the oil tank and then removed the cowl for the motor to bleed the air out of the line between the oil tank and the reserve tank inside the cowl.   As I am doing this with the motor running low and behold there is gas leaking from some where inside on the engine to the point of gas dripping down the side of the engine.  So my mistake my have saved me starting a fire or worse.  I would have to say it was God watching out for me and using my error to help me.

Definitely. Scary stuff but you have an angel on your shoulder for sure. Everything happens for a reason.

I keep a separate quart of oil that I keep next to the 3 gallon oil tank. Used it once when I got a low oil buzzer.
