Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Dan Scheda & I went walleye-in & fly-rod-in near the S. Gap today. We started slow trolling with a spinner & worm on a three-way. Got an 'eye right off the bat but it was slightly undersize. After trolling around some more & catching only white perch, we move to outside the wall & eventualy to the Roundhouse where we were getting only gobies. The fly didn't get anything. Back to the S. Gap where we ended up with getting a final tally of 4 'eyes (one was legal) & a few more white perch. No bass, no sheephead, no rock bass, no yellow perch. water temp was 72.8 deg F on the surface

After getting most our crawlers get eaten by 4" & 5" white perch, Dan & I looked at each other & thought "musky food." They were just the right size that a musky would like for an appetizer. Time to think "match the hatch."

Jojo...any white perch lures in your stash?

That's funny. Your thinking the 4 and 5 inch white perch were perfect musky snacks while I was thinking the short walleyes you were catching would make perfect musky sized snacks. I would be matching that hatch.

HAH! Good point, John! And talking to the others guys fishing,  there were a heck of a lot of those small 'eyes too. Talked to one guy out there who was running the same short pattern with his electric over & over & he told us he hadn't gotten a legal one yet this year. Grandma's & a big Toothy in "yellow pike" color?

I think that the 15-1/2 incher we got was out of the norm but we had it for dinner this evening. Thickest meat I ever saw on a 15 incher, hands down. The fillet was over 3/4" thick but not quite 1". Those 'eyes gotta be eating good.

We quit at dark & when we pulled out noticed that there were already about a half dozen boats with lights on in the basin surrounded by the Gap, Coke Channel & Gallagher's.

John...have your lures at the ready! Here's what the little guy looked like. All 15-1/2" of rompin', stompin' he77. Now you got me thinkin'. But, for a small guy, it had a thick (and tasty) fillet.

Fished walleye out of sturgeon 2 days last week. We found them 68 fow the first day and got a quick 3 man limit and a pile of perch. Came back the next day to load up and found nothing!!
