Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

Hopefully we can be on the water this year!  Then you can look forward to a USCG inspection.

My passport card expired last year so I am getting it renewed. Here is a tip on that.  My daughter works for US Customs and Passports. When you send your passport card (or passport) for renewal, the mail gets forwarded to Sterling, VA, to get x-rayed, then forwarded to get checked for anthrax and other chemicals.  Then to one of many processing centers.  But: all those places are now shut down so the whole process is on hold. Your renewal will take a long time.

Therefore, before you send your application out, photocopy your passport card and use that as an ID on the water, even if expired. You will also have your driver license (hopefully an enhanced license) to use if inspected.

Not a bad idea to copy your ID, license, etc.  Last year a Canadian inspector on a USCG rig dropped my paperwork and no one was able to retrieve it (not even Jim Kinner). They were more careful when I handed them my original ID.

Good information. My passport expires this summer and I was unaware that I would be sending it in for renewal. I think I’ll carry a bag for them to drop my paperwork into after they touch it..lol. I hope I remember to position myself upwind of them when the blue lights approach.
