Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

Thank you for the kind newsletter article. You make me sound quite heroic. Actually, it wasn't really heroic at all. It was a team effort. First, I have to give the most credit to Andy Lacko, who's precise coordinates were essential. Andy was fishing the river when John J. called him when my converted location looked bad. He motored up to the harbor and pinpointed the spot. The Diver in the picture is actually Dave Jones who accompanied me. So Andy, Dave and John all deserve credit here

We simply dropped anchor as exactly on the marks as we could. After gearing up and dropping in, we just followed the anchor down to the bottom and tied a hand reel of rope to the anchor. Swimming in circles, and letting out 3 feet after each complete rotation we covered the bottom. The Cargill transducer was found quickly, but the Bell slip unit was elusive.

No fish advice needed. I did think I heard a smallmouth bass whisper to me however. I thought he said, and I'm not quite sure of this, but it seemed like "Start Matt Ryan when you play Scott and Mike F. in fantasy football." Now, Matt is my backup QB in the NMA fantasy football league, and he is sometimes a bit too cautious in the red zone. I started him, however, and was rewarded with victory. Smart Bass. If it was just a sheepshead, I would have totally ignored it.

So, thanks again, I was happy to be able to help. I now miss the meetings, as I am volunteering at a pet shelter on Tuesdays. Really enjoy the football league, as it's a way to stay in touch with the club. It would be nice if we were able to expand it by a couple teams next year. It's a lot of fun.

Big thumbs up for volunteering at the pet shelter, Jim!!!

Jim/Davey/Scott...Thanks so much, Jim & Davey for doing what you did. I sent Scott an email telling him that Davey Jones was your sidekick. He thought I was joking (what,me joke?). But I saw the team effort from beginning to end; from Andy to the Aquaman to Davey Jones. I also saw it in the first pair of divers who weren't as successful. Five minutes after going under, Davey pops up with the receiver in his hands. UNBELIEVABLE! Actually, Aquaman told me he spotted the floating polypro line that led him to the receiver. I will bring the polypro line to the next meeting but Jim has first dibs on the walleye lure snagged on.

Scott: I offered Jim & Davey comp tickets to our prom for their work & Jim gratefully declined. He said he didn't need free tix because he was going to win them in Fantasy Football.

There are only three groups of people that I've come across in my life with that kind of confidence: pilots, musky anglers and scuba divers, and not necessarily in that order.

Yes, Dave Jones is real. A long time local diver with 30+ years and hundreds of dives under his weight belt. I'm sure he and his wife will enjoy the banquet. Myself, If I can't win them, I will buy them. GO KING SALMON !!! ,The run is ON !

see you on the Oak!
