Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

This site is sponsored by NMA Member Jay Nannen.

He is fond of ending his articles from time-to-time with a paraphrased John F. Kennedy quote: Ask not what the River can do for you, ask what you can do for the River.  He is the living embodiment of what he hopes to convey with these words.  When it comes to hands-on work in the River by one of our members, Joe Wilczewski trumps us all, and he always has.  Tonight at the Erie County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs Awards Banquet, Joe was recognized as the Sportsman of the Year.

This award is presented annually to the individual the ECFSC believes contributed the most to impact Erie County’s hunting and fishing in a positive manner.  Joe’s hard work on Strawberry and Motor Islands were cited by the award's presenter, Frank Miskey, Jr.  And even though he pronounced Joe’s last name incorrectly, Frank certainly conveyed all of the hard work Joe has accomplished and all of the time he has dedicated to ensuring the River is a better place for all sportsmen.  If one individual from every fishing or hunting club in Erie County was nominated annually for this award, Joe would invariably deserve to be our nominee, every, single, year.

On behalf of the entire NMA, I would like to congratulate you, Joe, on this most deserved and long overdue honor.  Your volunteerism is a continued source of inspiration, and you are a living and breathing blueprint for what all conservation-minded outdoor club members should be.  Thank you so very much, my most wonderful and excellent friend!

If I remember correctly, Frank referred to Jojo as "The unofficial caretaker of Strawberry Island."  A very fitting title, Congratulations again Jojo, well done and well deserved!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, Jojo.  There's no one more deserving in Erie County, or even New York State, of this award.  The 1st project I got to know him was at the Motor Island/Strawberry Spring cleanup & I could see his dedication right away.  You make us proud members of our club and a model of the kind of volunteer we should all be.  Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!

Good day
Thanks but I did not do any of it alone.
I think it is called camaraderie and a conservation club.
