Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Event Description

My experience with turkey hunting extends to stalking them in the frozen foods section at grocery stores.  I vaguely recall “curling” with frozen turkeys once - using them as stones - with my buddies one early morning at a local establishment while I was away at college.  The manager wasn’t as concerned with our use of the turkeys as he was with our use of the store’s brooms.  I can’t recall how we did, but I can remember being politely asked to leave by Plattsburgh’s Finest.  At our April Membership Meeting Frank Miskey, Jr., one of the best hunters in WNY, will tell us all about spring turkey hunting.  Frank is quite an accomplished hunter and the fine folks at Real Tree have seen fit to sponsor him.  (Reddi-Wip, a dessert topping, almost did the same for me years ago until they discovered I was purchasing so much of their product for the gas that propels the sickly-sweet goo, but that’s a different story altogether, and its completely fictitious.)   Back to Frank.  Frank is the best and most successful hunter I know, and I’m sure he’ll put on a great show and be able to answer any questions you may have about turkey, or any other sort of hunting.  If the weather cooperates and there is ice on the Eldridge Club’s parking lot, I’ll be giving a turkey “curling” demonstration, so bring your broom!  (“Hard! Hard!! Hard!!!”)

We will have tickets available for our 20th Anniversary Banquet on Saturday, April 5th at the Pearl Street Grille.  They are $40.  The doors (the actual doors, not the band) open at 6PM and we eat at 7.  (Are you as sick of reading about banquet tickets as I am of typing about them?  I’d bet it’s a tie.)  Don’t miss the banquet.  It will be our best ever.  (I am sick of typing that last sentence as well, but it is the truth.)

We will have NMA shirts, pliers, Knipex, Beckman nets, jaw spreaders and the like for sale as well.

If you turkey hunt or if you just like hanging out with turkeys (sorry, I had to), show up at our April meeting.  It will be fun.

Thanks,

Scott

Will there be a Board of Director's meeting before the membership meeting?
