Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

While we are on the subject of "Top 20s", what other top 20 lists can we cook up?

My suggestion is "Top 20 NMA Fishing Stories". Over a period of 20 years and even the period of time I have been in the NMA, the number of memorable stories is probably almost endless. But there are several that I can think of off hand that stick in my mind. It could be a daunting task to sort through them all to pick the top 20. It might take a committee to narrow it down.

To limit the number, it could be limited to stories that were told in past newsletters and/or emails. But there might be some that were never printed and in the memories of members that are worthy of telling.

It shouldn't be limited to fish catching stories. Maybe it could be split into several top 20 groups such as; unusual experiences, funny experiences, dangerous experiences and first 50". Or just most memorable.

Like I said, it might be very difficult to narrow down to 20 but it sure would make for some entertaining reading and discussions. After all, the memories are the best part of the NMA experience.

I love this idea.  Start compiling your list and I'll compile mine.  If anyone has ideas, zap them to Steve or me.  We'll hash out a top 20 and put this baby together, together.

My first 50" story changes once or twice a week depending on what I eat before bed.

I wish my dreams were all about muskies but unfortunately, they aren't even thought my name on LOU is muskiedreams. Only in daydreams.

That's really funny, Riley!  Musky dreams are better than musky nightmares.  I still see the absolute monster I dumped in the lake from time-to-time.

great idea, Steve.  I'll give this some thought & fire something over to you as soon as I can.  I've got stories for just about every category but fish stories are always the best.

I like this!

How do you think we should do it? Maybe spread it out over several newsletters with a different category for each? And then a final one with the all time top 20? Or should we just gather them all together and do only an all time top 20? How many members should we have to do the judging? Any other ideas on how to compile and judge them?

I like the idea of multiple categories, one per issue with a small committee deciding on ranking and then for the overall top 20 allow for voting where all previous top 20s are candidates or something along those lines.

I thought about making the Top 20 NMA Stories a Web site special.  (Then size wouldn't come into question.)

I do like the idea of re-printing these tales though.  What about this idea?  Starting with 20 and finishing with 1 by printing 6, 7 and 7 stories in the October, November and December issues, respectfully.

If a handful of members will rank their top 20 favorite stories, and send them to me, I will determine the top 20 based on your rankings.  Lowest score is number one and so on.

I'll put together my list when I return from Nipissing.  These sorts of articles take a long time to lay out.  I would need to determine the top 20 well before my deadline of Friday, September 26.  Start working boys, and blast me your results.

Why do we even have a printed version of our NMA Newsletter? Those that still get mailed a printed version should either have to log onto the NMA Ning Website or change to emailed version.Take the cost to print those hard copies and use the money to create an NMA App.With an NMA App instant pictures with time and date when you catch them!
If they do not have a smart phone or computer we can have a laptop available at the monthly meeting where they can read the NMA Newsletter!
