Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

I talked with the DEC yesterday & they picked up four of the six receivers in the Harbor. Couldn't find two of them but we have a plan. After talking with another member, we even have some new theories.

He calls me & we're jibber-jabbering like a couple of kids on Christmas morning! Two of the receivers had thousands of detections. It doesn't mean there were thousands of fish, though. Maybe a few hundred. He glanced at the S/N's of the detections & recognized some as being muskies.

Two receivers were in canals. One had a couple of doz detects, the other zero. He also recognized some musky S/N's in the canal mix. So, muskies detected on 3 out of 4 receivers.

While in the S. Gap area, one of the boats fishing brings in a 49 & the DEC has a look for a surgical scar. No scar. A new fish for next spring. He also looked at a pic of another huge fish that looked like a scar. Off the pic told me it probably wasn't a surgical scar, but that's off a pic. Maybe another fresh fish for the transmitter.

I asked them to check out the shad Mike Rowan reported in the Union. Sure enough, they said the shad were so thick they were jumping out of the water.

Data will be uploaded to GLATOS in a few days and they will send a report of where our muskies have been in the Harbor and out in the lake. They will also send a report of all the other fish (not our muskies) detected on our receivers.

These were all very preliminary findings by a couple of kids on Christmas morning but we'll have to wait until late Jan/Feb for the GLATOS report.

We're already strategizing for next spring!
