Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

When Bruce and I returned to the dock at 1pm the water level had risen about two feet.  It was a bit breezy on the mighty Niagara today.

Starting around 8:30 this morning, we made our first trolling run down the spine to the humps in front of Strawberry.  With a 10" jointed Believer back 55', Bruce's rod doubled over and stayed that way except for the long, sweeping pulses of pronounced, violent head shakes.

I hope you know this rip.  With the exception of the slow, steady, whatever-is-hooked-doesn't-know-it-yet rip, the rip Bruce had is one you pray for.  As soon as he wrestled the rod out of the rod holder  he felt the power of whatever had smacked his lure.  Somehow as the fish shook its head the lure dislodged.  Needless to say we were both pleased as punch.  I kept muttering, "that was a big fish" over and over again for about ten minutes in a I-can't-believe-that-just-happened tone.  Bruce was left with that sick feeling in his stomach a bottle of Tums can't cure.  After resetting lines and calming down a bit, he said, "I've never felt a musky that powerful before." Bruce has caught really big muskies in the past.

After his tremendous strike and kidney shot loss the wind picked up to 25 to 30 with higher gusts.  Despite the lack of any more activity, we had as nice a time as one could expect rocking and rolling with the chop, still licking our wounds from the proverbial,  "big one that got away."

When we left the water clarity was less than a foot with orange.  Back out Sunday.  Good luck, everyone.
