Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

This is the field as of 11/7/25

The weather isnt perfect Sunday, but we arent fair weather fisherman and we're going 100%. (Unless its a small craft advisory in the actual river which we shouldn't get with a NE). We're musky anglers honoring the most hard-core musky guys the club has ever had. We'll get out there and do them proud.

This is the way I see it, we've got a day of wind today to bring us some color and life and then a perfect 2 day window to find the Queen this weekend. Let's get out there and find her.

Those who still need to get squared away please reach out to me. We've got atleast 10 boats ready to brave the elements so lets make it happen!

Pulling into the Small Boat Harbor parking lot around 7am, we were simply happy we had made it over the Skyway alive.  There, we sat in our trucks facing the launch watching the deluge of rain sheeting in the heavy winds. Water splashed over the Small Boat Harbor walls from time-to-time.

Mark Reichert and I were in his truck, parked next to Tom Page in his.  We communicated through barely rolled down windows.

Five minutes went by.

Ten minutes went by.

A half-hour went by.  The three of us never even considered launching.

The rain and wind worsened.

We agreed we'd meet at the Greek restaurant near(ish) the launch.  While we drank coffee and scarfed down eggs, steak, hash brown and pancakes, one boat fished through the maelstrom.

Tim Wittek and Ralph Stemmerich persevered.

They launched in the dark.  In the wind.  In the rain.  They fished and fished and fished until it was dark again.

We made it out around 10.

When I spoke to Ralph that evening he mentioned Tim's bilge ran continuously until noon.

Water clarity is overrated.  We are musky anglers.  We are tough.  A little rain and wind won't kill us.  I can guarantee you what Tim would have called any of us should we even consider canceling a tournament when he was alive with Sunday's projected weather. That word is an alternative name for cats.

Attention Memorial Tournament Anglers: Please report every musky you release during the tournament to me, (716) 225-3816.  Carrie will update the standings on our website throughout the tournament.  Doing this serves several purposes.

1. Members who were unable to compete can at least follow the tournament from afar.  (Our deal with ESPN 38 (You know... the trienta y ocho) sadly fell through.))

2. If participants check the standings on our website periodically, we can save some unnecessary measurements of smaller muskies.

Thanks, team. Best of luck Sunday.  It looks like a trolling day to me.

We are less then 20 hours away from go time!! The river is greeeeen and we've got 25 of the Niagara's best assembled to hunt down Queenie. Don't forget we have the backing of the Niagara regions amazing bait builders tomorrow. Red October baits, Carver Bait Co., Musky Candies Customs, Fretthold Baits, Mr. TOOTHY lures, Dukes Dozerz Spinnerbaits, Dadson Blade Baits all have created amazing tools to help us get the job done. Remember that any first place fish caught on 1 of their baits wins a free bait!!

Thanks again to...
Marc Arena of Red October baits
Hans Mann. Hans the Carver of Carver Bait Co
Michael Fretthold of Fretthold Baits
Cullen Veiders of Musky Candy Customes
Benjamin Duke of Dukes Dozerz Musky Spinner Baits
Johnny Dadson of Dadson Blade baits
And Jim Reynolds of Mr. Toothy lures

These guys are the best in the biz!!

Here's  my winning lure...a Carver deep diver split-ringed to a Fretthold split-ringed to a Candy split-ringed to Toothy split-ringed to a Dadson with a ROB trailer, all off of a Dozer spinnerbait arm.  BOOM!  That's seven free baits and half the cash!  I'm calling this monster the Niagara Region Sampler or perhaps the Magnificent Seven.  How many hook points are we allowed again?

Why not add an olive?
