July 27 report

Louis and I went out this morning at 6 am. Louis could only fish until 9am because he was joining the DEC to do some YOY seining. 

Louis hooked a nice fish at about 8:30 near Motor Island but lost it. Left him some deep gouges in his tube. I fished until about 11:30 with nothing else happening. Nice day though.

We've been able to hook into 1 or 2 nice fish every time out (five 6-hour trips). Problem is we've only landed 3 of 7. At least we can go out confident that we'll have a good chance to catch one.

That being said I think the best we can expect is one or two hook-ups, so losing a fish hurts more than if we knew we'd have more chances. One landed fish is a good day.
