Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

Went fishing alone Wednesday.  Made a lot of calls and some guys already committed to other boats. Others had to do other stuff - like work! Joyce asked me what happens if you get a fish and you are alone.  "Have fun" was the response.

Started at Thompson's at 7-ish. My rig doesn't have an electric motor so I gave up as another boat was able to hold position in the best spot. Tried tubing in the triangle then gassed up at Blue Water Marina. $3.49 p/gallon. Good price on the water.

Back to Thompson's and no one was there. Put on a Beaver Lures black bucktail that has two red helicopter blades.  I like that lure because it stays near the surface and you can spot the blades from afar. Target area was over the weeds in 10 or so feet of water.

Third cast and a strike in sea world, the area just opposite the concrete wall on shore. Now I remembered what Joyce said. Sort of felt like the dog chasing a car. Now that I got one, what do I do with it.  Beckman within reach.  Needle nose pliers also within reach. But not both at the same time. Fish near boatside. Doesn't like being there. Grab the net with one hand. Stick it in the water. Fish pulling out some line.  Can't reel in and hold the rod with one hand. Sending messages to the scrappy musky and if you can believe it, it swims into the net. Now I've got it figured out.  This is easy.  Had to stick the net handle under a hand grip on the transom and could remove the hook without injury to myself or the fish.  Snoot against the side of my boat and it measure at 38" with a big bend using a measuring stick from one of our tourneys of years past. Giving it a 39" call. Tilted the net and the ski swam off without thanking me. It's OK, the fish was excited. Nice clean release.

Left for home.  Right after catching one????? Yup - had to meet techs from Spectrum who were coming to my home to fix our cable TV problems. That is not as much fun as fishing. Next trip: Sat w/Scott Kitchen.  He will be a good net man.

Great start for my first post this year ----  I fished yesterday, not Wednesday.

Super!! "Fish was excited"? What about the guy doing the fishing?
