An open letter to Musky Santa Claus

Dear Musky Santa,

Now before you roll your eyes, I know I should have cut that one middle treble on that second 40" I popped casting in November. I thought the hook would pull easily and I do feel really bad that she bled a little, but I did let her go without a measurement and I'd bet she a bit bigger than forty. Just sayin'...

With that in mind, here's my musky Christmas list:

1. I'd love for more members to get involved with the club's activities, at the very least our Angler Diary Study.

2. John Jarosz has been a very good boy this year writting a lot of articles for the newsletter and securing a grant for a telemetry study. How about you send a nice musky his way next year that thinks it's a venus flytrap?

3. Tony Scime nearly killed me this year by waiting until the last hour of our Nipissing trip to keep his streak alive. What do you think about him popping one early on our trip next year to save my heart from a bit of stress?

4. Carrie hates open water casting. Maybe she could connect with a musky while NOT throwing to weeds so she doesn't roll her eyes when I want to gun Perchbaits next fall?

5. I know he tops your "nice" list every year, so, would it kill you to throw a 50-incher Joe Wilczewski's way next season? C'mon big man! What do you say?

Scott...How good is your pipeline with Musky Santa? I hope it's better than mine.

I've been hinting around to my wife to get me something brand new, shiny & would go from zero to 165 in 1.1 seconds.

So she got me a bathroom scale.

Here's wishing everyone's upcoming season is as good as they hope. Just getting to hang the musky stocking, look at it with wide-eyed wonder and anticipation and fill it with hope is what it's all about.
