Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Went out last week Wednesday and just kept pounding away until I managed to catch a fish just as I was being forced off the water with a near empty gas tank. East river 37”er. Yesterdays wind had me telling my wife that I was going to ride the couch but with the new moon underfoot arriving just past midnight it was making me too antsy so I just couldn’t stay home. Having a new Baker prototype lure which I had decided would see its maiden swim under the new moon was the final push. Standing at the launch with the wind blowing had me regretting my decision. Slow ride to the beach and it turned out there was going to be no hiding behind the island. Trolled for a couple hours without any muskie action but did catch a walleye. Wind seemed to have strengthened but it was time to head upstream to be where I planned to fish the major. Within a few minutes of moon underfoot my lure was hit hard and I was hooked up. Reached up and turned on my headlamp and suddenly the line went slack. Started reeling while thinking it had gotten off but it turned out the fish was charging toward me. I caught up to the fish just as it came into view and barely had time to grab the net when the fish was right below me. One handed the rod and brought the fish around in a circle and deep into the net. One hook in the mouth and two hooks in the net kept the fishes head immobile but the tail commenced to throwing what seemed like buckets of water at me. Quick pick for Zach with his lure in the mouth, fairly easy unhooking job, water measurement and a dip of the net. Suddenly I’m glad I came. Dried off and fished a few more hours until the major was over and a little extra without any more hits. I think the boat was rocking every minute of the night. Definitely put in the work..lol
