Here's an E-mail Frank sent me:

Guys,

You all know that possession of alcohol in Canadian waters is prohibited, even if in unopened containers.  I heard this from a friend who heard it from a friend, who etc., etc.  The story is that if inspected by the Canadian authorities, should they observe empty water bottles or other containers, they will inquire about the caps for the bottles. If you can't produce them, they assume you dumped them in the water, and they charge you with littering or pollution.  Now this is a stretch, I know, but does anyone have verifiable information to confirm or rebut this story???
