2 Great Lakes hit lowest water level on record

This issue might be important to learn about and consider in light of any proposals for spawning and nursery habitat restoration.  If the water level goes down further, these areas could end up being high and dry.

Somehow I get the impression that there are more influences on the situation than were discussed in the article.  Maybe mother nature and the dredging of the St. Clare River have played a role here but there may be other influences also involved.   I think we will have to have a better understanding of this in order to make any long term proposals in regard to habitat.  We may have to take into consideration, fluctuating water levels and their impact.  It would be a shame if lower water levels destroy any habitat restoration efforts.
