Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Fished from about 11:00am till 6:00pm. The day really tested my patience. Just respooled a reel, so I tied on a believer as I lazily drove to my spot. As I reeled in I swear a felt a hit, and proceeded to reel, only to feel the weight vanish after a couple cranks, wish I could've boated it, even if it was moss, just to know. Just reminded me I should really try giving trolling an honest workout one of these days.

Jigged "my spot" and noticed a lot of suspended fish, not too many marks on the bottom. Not sure if it was the overcast day or recent rain, but that's been true my last couple trips. Finally connected on the third long drift or so at about 1:30. Deeper water than usual, and I'm normally all about the deep fish. Nice solid hit, and set hard and felt that little "pop" that tells me I really sunk it somewhere. Trying to net it myself for the first time in a long time, made me really happy it was a nice hook placement. (Big Kahuna's ain't light) Trailer hook dead center of upper jaw, about an inch from the lip. Got it in, tagged, video and release. Eyeball tape says 38"

Another drift or two, and two lost tubes to snags. Wind would whip up, then die down. light from north, hard from west, and kind of swirling a bit.  I tried casting my drifts with a shadzilla to try and get at the suspended fish, gave up quick. Tried working the shallow weeds and just didn't feel it. Figured one last drift before I pack it in.

Connected with a spunky little 36" or so, tagged it, and a quick release as my net was starting to sink. Perfect conditions now, but I'd committed that for once I'd end it on a high note.

after skunking out on sunday, it was nice to grab a couple dinks to confirm I might have a clue.

Season total's 7 for me, 12 for the boat, 6 tagged.
