Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

I saw it posted yesterday on LOU. I let Dr. Farrell know about it because I thought he might want to try and examine it. I tried to trace it down and all I found was that it was posted on Facebook by newsjunkie. It had a caption saying it was found on the beach at Smithwick Beach Sate Park. Dr Farrell said that from the picture of the head, it is too decayed to check for disease but he might try to see if he can get to it for the cleithra. On the LOU post, there was also some chatter about some birds, walleye, sturgeon and other muskies washed on shore around the Henderson Harbor area. I hope is is nothing serious.

That is sad! I am no scientist, but I did own a tropical fish store, and raise and breed them for over 30 years of my life. It's stomach looks bloated (although that could be post mortem). It could be a bacterial issues, or digestive issues, maybe due to the hot weather, and warmer waters(?) It looks kind of fresh. I'm assuming it couldn't have been dead too long, because who could lay that close to a rotting fish that was that big and would be stinking to high heaven! I am curious as to the cause of death! I also hope it isn't nothing serious!!!
