Larry sent me a couple of pics of SBH launch ramp. Apparently, the ramps were plowed closed because of ice on the ramp. The other pic is of a 20+" drift. Thx, Larry…Read More

The DEC cancelled their plan to implant the last two transmitters during the Wittek. This DOES NOT affect any plans for the Wittek. If you catch a musky in the Harbor no need to call for the DEC boat but you might still want to call Scott with the measurement, if it's a winner.
There is supposed to be a small craft advisory for the lake tomorrow so it could make transferring a musky from a boater's net to the surgical ship dicey, if not dangerous, so they'll have to wait for the…Read More

Here's the Near Shore Marine Forecast out of Dunkirk. Good thing the Wittek is in the Upper Niagara: The 24 ft waves make for a good walleye drift
Just a reminder:
"All persons on board a recreational vessel less than 21 feet in length (including canoes, kayaks, and rowboats) must wear a USCG–approved PFD from November 1 to May 1."

Nothing to do with fishing. Got a text from my son today. He's finishing up a trek in Nepal that went up from Khatmandu to the first Base Camp of Mt Everest. Here's a pic on the way down. There were no good shots from the Base Camp. Everest is the "small" one off in the distance, in the center…Read More
At yesterday's meeting, between fighting off one of FAS's bear hugs & talking about the Elma Conservation Club, is Sept 28th the day that we've been asked to have a booth? If so, can you sign me up for a stint? thx
I can't stay for the picnic but the T's, hoodies & caps you ordered will will be there. Here are the ones that still need to be picked-up:
"Facilities" Fortunate, Jay Cotter, Andy Hector, Jim Spadafora, Adam Kazmark, Scheda, Marc Arena, Hans Mann, Bill Hilts.
If you ordered some 25th Anniversary NMA T-shirts, sweatshirts or other apparel, I will have them for you at the meeting tonight. NMA club member Denny Malinowski asked if I could give a presentation on our telemetry study to the Irondequoit Fish & Game Club in Ra-Cha-Cha on Tuesday the 11th. The presentation is nothing that you haven't heard before but if you feel like blowing off a few hrs Tues evening, give me a buzz. I'll pick you up & do the driving. The area around the club is pretty neat & I've been told I'll have to make a slight detour because of the LO high water. I'm leaving Lake View around 4:30…Read More

"A nut for a jar of tuna". How cool is that?
Received a text from the DEC today mentioning that they've been out in the Harbor doing their electro-fishing for our telemetry study and have only two more muskies to go. I'll try to get a report for our June meeting.
Many thanks to everyone who cleaned Strawberry today! We were graced with three new volunteers, Jo Johnson (BNW), Megan (her birthday weekend). I wish I could spend my birthday cleaning the islands! And Jake. Jake's a diehard duck hunter & my hero. Those who hunt ducks are a different breed. But what an education he gave us out there. Missing from the pic is Jo Johnson.…Read More
