Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Got up at 4:45 am,got ready and headed for the SBH,got there early at 6:00 am.As I waited for Dr. Dave to show at 7:00 am, the winds just kept increasing.By the time Dr. Dave drove up you could see many waves breaking over the long wall and whitecap washboard behind the walls. With no other boats there to go out, safety in numbers,we retreated to the East River. Was to rough at Sheridan Dr. so we went to Isle View Launch. As we were getting setup up Joe Nitro Propane H. drove up with his rig. Both of our boats trolled just about every inch up to Motor Boat Island and back to Isle View.We marked many closed mouth big hooks, most were around the deep hole by the South Grand Island Bridge. We gave up around 2:30 pm and Joe gave up around 3:30 pm,I stayed around to make sure Joe got in ok.Back to the Harbor in the morning.

Larry please call me with a harbor launch report as Mike and I plan to meet at 8;30 at the harbor and if too risky we will go to Shereidan.

Frank

Frank,Will call you at 7:00 am

Larry called as promised and reports calm water, clear ramp. Snow at noon or so and he salted half the ramp. I will salt the upper portion in an hour.  See you out there.

We are marking a few big girls outside the walls in 42.5 degree water,41 degrees inside the walls.

I got to the ramp at 9 and found it salted beautifully by Capt Larry.  As promised, I went into the attic and dragged out my large bucket of ice melt pellets and found a can to use to spread them   Got to the harbor and saw nice calm water and a ramp partially salted by Larry.I got to the ramp and opened the bucket only to find out it was filled with sunflower seeds left over from last years bird feeders. At least no one saw me look like a yo yo as I put it back in my car.  Mike and I launched, followed by Dave Martin and Josh Kerty (that's how he spells it on line) (I know its Ketry). Josh broke the worlds record for most handwarmers in one float suit. Mike launched his rig beautifully. Who needs a dock???We motored out and turned the corner and almost ran over a bunch of duck decoys. Saw Larry and Dr. Dave (we have to get him in the club as he was out there in tough weather). I think he is a plastic surgeon - some of us could use a discount. It was 29 degrees, the water was 39. Saw homeland security way out there, back and forth. What's up with that??? Then it came closer and we were ready to find our ID's for a check  Well, it turned out to be Joe Hetzendorfer. His boat had the top up, side covers etc and looked big out there (the lake erie mirage effect). Anyway, we marked a LOT of hooks of muskies with lockjaw.  No bites. Not even a plastic bag.We left Joe H out there all by his lonesome. Called it quits in a real brisk wind and beached the boat without too much difficulty. Shot the breeze with Larry and saw the USCG preparing to launch that super Zodiac with the stainless steel cabin.  We chatted with them and they noticed our running noses and decided against launching.  At least we saved the government some money today. This is our fourth or fifth year with no November harbor fish. That is definitely my last time trying for a harbor beauty. Maybe.

Frank,

Maybe not ;-)

Kuddo's to you Frank, ur not one of those patsy attorneys that would never leave the warm & cozy confines of a warm office while shooting a commercial for some kind of liability suit hahahaha. Yeah Celino and Stachowiak.

Josh & I made the same comment about you today , it was a bitter cold, east wind blowing stinging snow in your face day.

Enjoyed ur company out there.

Oh.. and no fish for us today.
