Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

The day started out quite normally and ended on a bizarre note.  My baby brother Bruce, our buddy Tim, whose nickname is usually associated with a bag, and I spent the late morning and early after lunch bass fishing in UN4 with a little musky on the side.

The bass were jumping out of their skins for about two hours and we caught about thirty of them.  Both the smallmouth and largemouth seemed to relate to weed edges with very quick access to deeper water.  Most came drop shotting.  Bruce did catch a few nice fish on a Spook and even had a baby musky follow his topwater for a bit.  Bruce did land a 20-inch buskie on a Rapala Risto Rap in parrot.

I did a little casting for teeth in between tying knots for the boys.  (They are almost helpless.  it's like taking two kids fishing other than the fact that both catch a lot of bass.)  I caught a 22" on a Baby Legend jointed Perchbait while taking a break from gunning Toothys and Perchbaits.

Around 3 PM I dropped the boys off and went musky fishing full time.

I tried jigging, downstream trolling and even did a little casting in UN13, where I manged to hook another dinky buskie on the same Baby Legend.  This time I was taking a break from throwing Monster Tubes.  The little pisser smacked it by the boat and threw the lure on a jump when I gave him slack.  I like it when the little guys shake off.

Trolling was a bit more difficult today than yesterday when we were getting 10 minutes at least before having to clean.  Today I was getting about 5.  I tried jigging, but was out of my comfort zone just prior to dark so I did what I do best.

The Triangle was a ghost town, seemingly devoid of all life except for Adam Kazmark and Travis Colwell.  I worked my way over to the Spiles and then cross current upstream pulled behind the Side Walk Bar or the Fly By Zone as it's also known.

Around 9:30 I had a fish on for a few seconds on a Niagara Walleye Depthraider 55-feet back.  I was a little pissed.  I checked the hooks which were sharp and ran back thought the same GPS track.

Same spot, almost same result.  A fish blasted my lure and was really heavy coming in.  I thought I had a pig of a fish on until I saw the 38 or so inch musky that was snagged six inches behind its head.  I let some slack in the line and the fish threw the lure easily and shot toward the bottom.

I checked my hooks again which were still sharp and ran back through the same GPS track again.  Boom!  Fish on!

This fish didn't blast the lure like the snagged musky did, bit it was heavy (or so I thought) and I did feel some big head shakes.  When my line clicker read "15" I saw them, God damn  marble eyes.  A crummy walleye, and this crummy walleye was snagged about six inches behind its head.  Are you kidding me?  What the (expletive deleted)!

After I released the fish dinner I decided I had enough and called it a night.

Congratulation to MISAA angler John Pensyl and his partner on a very nice day.  I hope everything works out with your motor.

Julie is very excited that you used "buskie"

Last night I dreamed of having big muskies on which then morphed into walleyes just before I netted them.  What a nightmare.

I like the term "buskie".  You can read all about it and many more musky terms in the Musky Glossary in July's issue.  Do know what "murdered out" means?  You will Monday when I finish the "Rag".
