Fishing Report 10/1

Carrie and I jumped aboard the Short Recess this morning for some trolling with Frank Stachowiak.  We started shallow in UN3 and 2.  After pounding weeds and salt, we moved a little deeper.  At 10:20 Carrie popped her largest musky so far, a 40" on a Carpe Diem 10" Believer downstream from the Shipyards in 17-feet of water.

Twenty minutes later I caught a 34" on a Naked Perch 10" Believer in the same area and depth.

Frank didn't catch anything, but he seemed to have a good time distributing boat snacks that he pulled from every compartment and telling us funny stories on his luxurious trolling machine.  With it's low sides, cuddy cabin and spacious deck, the Short Recess is a long haul, super pimped out trolling monster.  Thanks Frank!

Both of the Believers we caught the fish on were painted by Bare Bones Baits.  Check out their Web site.  Their colors are cooler than the other side of the pillow.

Learned a lot this AM about trolling shallow, JoJo balls and weeed lines.  Also Scott works from left to right cleaning weeds from all rigs in the water. For variety he sometimes goes right to left.
