Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

My nephew Cameron decided he'd like to give fishing for giant toothies a try.  I couldn't have been happier to have him join my brother and myself for his second ever boat ride and first musky trip.  We fished from 7:30 - 11:30am on Sunday.  He did great jigging....I think he's a natural.  But as is often the case in musky fishing he wasn't rewarded for his initial efforts.  We were however able to show him a good fish. While casting a ten inch tube I felt a familiar tic followed by slack line....ahhhh I love that feeling.   I reeled down fast and when I felt the right amount of tension, drove the hooks home.  The fish initially swam right towards the boat, but once she realized we were engaged in a battle she put on quite a show.  Jerry scooped her up once she settled.

Yesterday (Tuesday) me and my two boys made spontaneous plans to fish during a gorgeous fall day.  I just knew it would be good with the front approaching.  Gabe wanted a chance at a larger ski for the season.  Unfortunately Murphy's Law kicked in and obstacle after obstacle slowed our progress until I decided it was no longer worth the trip on a school night.  Owen and Gabe were not so easily discouraged, so we followed through and fish the last hour before dark.  No action for us, how often do one hour musky trips pan out?  The boys enjoyed the ride.

I'm still feeling bad about leaving a lure in a muskies mouth. When we had the 46"er thrashing at the boat it crossed one of the other lines and we lost that perchbait.I'm now thinking that when the other line cut it must have knicked the line the fish was on, we could not see this in the dark.Topping the night off the windshield got caught by the wind near the dock and smacked me in the lip driving my teeth almost through my lower lip.First night trip in the rain in a long time, difficult working around rain top, getting net and getting the other rods out of the way.I will unhook and fold down rain top from now on when we get a fish on.I do not have a lot of open dates this October & November, but I will try to get a different NMA member out fishing when ever I can.A lot of memories last night of when we use to have as many as six NMA boats fishing night time in the harbor in October. We got a poor picture with no flash and put the 46" muskie first and got her quickly back in the water, where she swam away and down fast.
