Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Fished this morning with Frank from 6 AM til about 11 AM.  We had, grapes, string cheese, cherries and baby carrots.  Oh and Frank caught a 35" fish (tag #113) in UN13.  The water is definitely the clearest I have ever seen it.  You can see the bottom clearly in the deepest part of UN13 that I fish, which is a little over 30'.  I had a very deep follow, maybe 20' down from a very large looking fish on a swim shad.  It is surreal to be able to see a follow that deep.   Moss is getting worse, but still very fish able when drifting.  I also had one of those half hearted hits on a swim shad, but could not get a hook set.

I hate clear water. Doesn't hurt the fishing while there's fish. If it's short term it's not a problem. Long term it could be disastrous.

We had very clear water for a long period of time from the late 1990s to mid 2000s. It spelled a significant decline in the muskellunge population and our poorest catch rates on record. Prolonged clear water is a sign that the aquatic ecosystem is losing biomass, which means less fish, from phytoplankton to muskellunge.

We need green water. Around 10' visibility is ideal.
