Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all. Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

When we pulled out of the canal, I called Jojo to see if he needed any help on the islands. He didn't answer, but he text me back saying he didn't, which worked out pretty well in my favor.
As I was trolling upstream with Mike Fortunate in front of Frenchman's Creek this early evening, I didn't notice the wind had picked up a bit from the northwest. After jerking my sucker colored Mr. Toothy as it approached a hump, something smacked it really hard. I'm sure I said something like, "here we go" or "there it is." As I stood to put the kicker in neutral and turned to fight the fish I noticed the annoying chop had turned into annoying capping waves. Oh, goody. I knew it was a big fish when I had trouble moving her off the bottom. She stayed down until I got her next to the boat and then she freaked out. She was only hooked by one point of the rear treble. The wind was pushing my boat upstream and we were bouncing pretty good and she didn't like my net at all. After a few well thought out and kinds words of encouragement from me, Mike netted her. After a quick picture, we taped her on my new bump board which was already wet with the spray we were taking. He thought she might be 50", but she missed by an inch. Fine by me, she fought like a champ and swam away as soon as she hit the drink. Do you think this is the fish Carl caught? It was caught in same spot.
We quit early as "The Facilities" had to use the facilities. Also fine by me. It was a great few hours bouncing around!

Sweet fish! Still have to get myself a few Toothy's.
Congrats again. too bad I couldn't get my right hand in or we could have compared markings. Tommy and I stayed through the wind and it laid down to nothing. we managed a small fish in un13 after dark. walking on Motor sucks this time of year.

p.s.s. small one drew some blood
Tommy, am I reading that right? You fell in to the river?
Congrats on your big fish!
I actually went out yesterday - for 10 hours! My lengthiest stay on the river in many years.
But I was bass fishing? With all the wind and the clouds moving in and out I was really thinking muskies. That front was still moving through.
But I was taking out an old friend from Denver and he really preferred the bass.
And after a slow start the bassing was quite good - probably his best day ever.
Best area was above the International Bridge, probably 20 husky 16 to 18 inchers (and a few smaller ones). No giants though. I hear there might be muskies there, too?
But the fish were biting all day, even with the strong north winds. My new electric motor really helped a lot.
Next chance I get will be muskies. But lately I've been on a take the old friend, the niece, the grand-nephew, etc. out for bass. Which I really don't mind. Bass are fun, especially when I'm only 5 minutes from the best smallmouth fishery in the world!
Tony
Riley, this fall might be really good.
Tony. you make me want to go bass fishing. It is really nice having the best smallmouth bass fishery in the world in our back pocket.
one of the most famous phrases in musky fishing. I have really high hopes for this fall. Last year I didn't know the water and I was a rookie in every sense of the word and I still had a great season. My hours were low and we still boated 8 fish and had shots at 3 times that many. This year I plan to up the hours and crazy things will hopefully follow.
