Fishing report Saturday

Fished upper Ontario water for 1 hour and 45 minutes. No bites water looked great. About 6 boats, the usual group, we're working the area. Hopefully they fared better than me. that was my first time on the upper in December this season, probably my 3rd or 4th time ever during December. hoping I can get out one last time Saturday for a couple hours.

Tough day.. no action and we covered water from tompsons to shipyards and back. How about that fog? We called it a day when it got thick and as I got back I remembered ur boat had no GPS. Had to be kind of fun! Hope to launch at noon or so and fish until dark today. At it hard wed and thurs to finish off the season. Best of luck to anyone that has the opportunity to hit the water.

Mark S. & Son and I went out into Lake Erie to Wind Mill Point on Saturday.We marked a small amount of gizzard shad and also a small number of big hooks,no hits.We went back to the west river and crunched downstream trolling from Frenchmens Creek to the 36 ft deep area below the Shipyards.We marked a few big hooks in the 36 ft area,no takers.We quit as the thick fog was rolling in around 3:15 pm.Today I went to the Bungalo Bill's Game,should have fished.I will not get back out until Tuesday or Wednseday after the rain & wind.Anyone fish today?

Fished from 12 to 430 or so. East wind picked up hard as we got there. Trolled down to the hole u mentioned and worked that area for a bit. No luck. Ran back up and trolled triangle and did a couple jigging/casting passes which was tough with the cross current winds. We took off just in time to avoid the rain/snow mix but still got wet.

I fished with my son from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm.  We did not even see a fish on a follow in UN13 or UN2.  Water looks like 20 feet of visibility.

Man the water looked good today.  Surprised at no action in the upper either with the variety of anglers and approaches.  Lower was a ghost town too.  Hmmm.

John, that fog was intense on Saturday.  I have never been in a fog so thick.  I couldn't see anything beyond 100 yards at one point.  Got me considering gps now.  I hate to have that happen out in the lake without gps.  Anyone know anything about Garmin GPS 441S?  West Marine has them on sale for a pretty affordable price.

John...I have a Lowrance Elite 5 that has a 5" screen.  I saw on-line that the Garmin 441S has a 4" screen.  From almost everything I've read, it was recommended that a person get the largest screen that he can within his budget.  I'm glad I got the 5" Lowrance.  The larger screen is nice when you're standing away from it & I think the prices between the two aren't too much different.  Got it at Gander when Lowrance was giving a $50 rebate.  If you can, you should take a look at both.

You also should look at the New Lowrance Elite HSD 7 for around $600,has tri-split screen cabability,GPS Map--Fishfinder in high resolution--down scan imaging,all at once any combination or one big for any of the three.

Been doing good shallow Josh, or are you just thinking about getting skinny?

Casted big rubber at the edges a little bit but nothing real shallow, 12 foot humps, 14ft flats, edge of lunge lane near the drop offs, shore near frenchmans. This was sat and Sunday and in my mind I'm telling myself they were just shut right down and there was no turning them on. Last go at them tomorrow and Thursday.

Last Saturday I cast the shore edge by Frenchmens creek with MD Chopper jerkbait in orange belly perch color, had 3 small 30" size follows,very slow follow in--very slow swim away!
