Grass Island

Good morning All!

  Habitat restoration at Grass Island could be held back by boaters voicing their opinion against it. When you have time, if you could send a letter to Dave Spiering in support of the project, that would be great! It’s a numbers game of support/non support. Ditto on what Josh K said. I sent an email to Dave S. a couple of weeks ago extolling him on the four projects NYS parks is undertaking this year. The four projects are what he will present. He mentioned that he is filing it away in his folder on this project. I've read the comments on f/b and many are not pretty. The Grass Islands, however, are a part of the NYS Park system and already classified as a wetlands, so it's not out of line for them to do that.

If you support the project, please take a minute, send him an email & let him know. Otherwise, anchoring will eventually destroy Grass.
