Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Good Day Boys and Girls

If you were not there last night you missed a great meeting. I will let our hard working Conservation Director, Johnny J, tell us the details in our next fabulous newsletter produced by our fearless and incredibly talented editor, Mr President, Igg.

The three high lights for me were :

1) Chris Legard and his passion for the fishery

2) The discussion and probably of doing the tagging study again

3) My gratitude and appreciation to all those that participate in our Angler Diary Study for

21 YEARS and Tony for compiling the data.

IT WAS THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF DATA FOR CHRIS'S PRESENTATION

With out the dedication of these boys and girls the DEC and Chris would have NO reference points to compare to from our river.

I meant to say something last night but my head was spinning from all the potential, all the possibilities,  and all the hope I / we have for the fishery.

BUT WE NEED EVERYONES HELP.

IF YOU DO NOT DO A DAIRY STUDY WHY --------NOT!!!!

This presentation should have you wanting to do it, not to mention I am asking you to and I am calling and pulling  you out, ALL HANDS ON DECK, NOW!

Chris said last night "that it does not look bad but it does not look good either"!

The Diary Study is the most important thing you can do to give back to the fishery.

It is extremely simple, only takes only a few minutes, only one thing more then the release report, how long did you fish.

There are over 100 folks in this club and we have a hard time getting ten Dairies.

90 percent of you are not doing what you can!

WHY NOT???????????????????????????????????????????????????

Jojo...Well put. here is a quote from the DEC's website on Musky Management:

"Habitat quality has been identified as a key limiting factor for the muskellunge population in this area. In addition, annual angler catch-and-release records collected by the Niagara Musky Association have allowed for a longterm assessment of the fishery."

With the ADS, acoustic telemetry & tagging, our club is right up front to help out the musky fishery. One thing I discovered in the projects that we're now involved in is to start them early. The FAS & the acoustic telemetry have taken about a year from start to finish. Tagging meetings need to start right after Christmas!! Maybe by next year we'll get a program going. We can't wait until we want to do it & then start. By that time, you're already a year behind.

I agree immediately in
The new year!
And recruit lots of help Muskie inc & ???

Just as important we'll need to get a handle on the total number of muskies caught, tagged & untagged, that 2nd year by everyone, including non-NMA members. It's a big task but we have the talent & commitment to do it.
