Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

LMS Fishing Club held its "Jigging Techniques" meeting today.  We had an interactive lure tank in which students learned how rod tip manipulations affect lure action.  For all I know this may be the first time this has been done in a middle school.  also, we had 3 students who were at risk of being ineligible to participate in the club due to failing 2 or more courses.  Each of the students in question turned failing grades into passing grades to remain eligible to be a club member.  How cool is that?  We also took a club photo that we will send along with a thankyou letter to the NMA an its members for your kind donations (only 14 members in attendance today).

John...that really is cool.  The best part is that the skills & lessons they'll learn are something they can carry into their adult lives.  There's nothing like making great fisher-people for the future. I'm sure they'll be good stewards of the outdoors.  Glad to hear that you've found one of the tickets to motivate them!!  Can't wait to see the photo.

Awesome John.  Simply awesome.

I will ask the Erie County Federation of Sportsmans Clubs if they can donate some fishing rod & reel combo's to the Lackawanna Middle School Fishing Club at the next meeting coming up.As the Pres. of Eastern Lake Erie Charter Boat Assoc I can setup a day this summer where we can take all the kids out on Lake Erie fishing for a 1/2 Day.John we can talk about this at the April 2nd NMA Meeting.

John...If you have to pay for a school bus to take them to & from Bison City, you can count me in as offering a ride instead of the bus.  I can take four in my CRV & we could caravan from the school parking lot & back.  If there are enough other drivers, you might not even need a bus.

John..I can drive and take 4 as well using the wifes car,let us know if you want to set it up!How about anyone else for driving?

Capt. Larry and John, thank you very much for your generous offers.  WOW! I am blown away by the everyone's enthusiasm for helping this school fishing club get off the ground.  Larry I will definitely pursue the Bison City event.  I will look into busing or simply offering the event as an extra curricular outing in which parents can drive their child to the event.  Also I am very interested in hearing about a Lake Erie trip for the kids......wow now that would be the realization of my "mentoring future anglers dream".  We are planning our first outing to Chestnut Ridge Park Resevoire mid April.  We will save a few bucks by sharing a bus with the "Get Out Club", a highschool hiking club. I cant wait.

John, We can talk about dates for Lake Erie Kids Fishing Outing at the April 2nd NMA Meeting. If you have any handicap kids we can setup the Excalibur Boat to join us.We could leave from the SBH and have hotdogs and pop when we come in.
