Took a 9 year old out bass fishing in the river today. He did very well drop shotting and casting twisters in the east river but then he got bored so we went sight seeing. We went into the blue hole and saw the Eagles and then we took a tour through the shallows just to see the fish. From strawberry to beaver island beach we saw lots of rudd, carp and smallies but super shallow in front of the beach we found the big girls. I found 2 massive fish that looked packed with eggs in maybe 2-3 foot of water nearing the beaver marina Rockwall and 2 others back towards the swimming area a little deeper that were still 40 - 45 inches I bet. No males in sight but all 4 fish looked very very fat. Water was clear and we got good looks at them. Needless to say all the kid wants to catch now is muskies... and carp.. lol

Friday I fished from devils hole to whirlpool and seen a few muskie shallow along thw banks there as well but these were smaller.

Nice report, John.  It looks like you got the 9 yr. old hooked for life.  A day he'll remember for the rest of his life.
