Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Well in the DEC's efforts to streamline NYS fishing season fates they've made musky seasons more confusing than ever.  So now inland lakes open June 1st and close Nov 30th.   Lake erie and the harbor open June 15th and close December 15th.   The USA waters of the upper, lower and st. Lawrence now open June 15th and close December 15th.   So we've unified an upper river close date with Canada but now open earlier most years.  Looking like we can beat up the harbor and usa side of the upper for  for 3 days before canada opens this year.  Maybe it'll lead to some new exploration for some.  Bonus days!

Oh, and once again they've published that the NYS musky opener is June 1st all over the place without pointing out that it doesn't include the great lakes.  Expect to see novice musky anglers everywhere June 1st.

John, To try to help minimize any confusion, it would be good if you can post this on LOU and other musky web hangouts, FB pages, etc.

I have played the make sure it's clear the opening day of musky season in the state does not apply to the great lakes game for years with the DEC and New York Outdoor News.
I'll never understand why they can't just refer to it as the "inland musky opener" and the "great lakes musky opener" drives me nuts.
