Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all. Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Last night as I was formulating my early game plan, Carrie announced she wanted to start fishing in the east River today. This threw a money wrench covered with weeds in my plan, but Monday is her day off so why not?
When we uncovered the boat I realized she had left her tackle bag at home. She wasn't happy, but fortunately I carry a bunch of toys and I have a ton of stars next to my name for sharing. She caught a scrappy dink (did you ever notice that only dinks are scrappy in fishing reports? Can't horses or pigs be scrappy?) on a Shumway 'Lil Funky Chicken off the Launch Club wall. The weeds are still thick in the east side and she could she I was getting a bit pissed off so she decided we had enough of the east side.
We cast in front of Strawberry. it was here that I gave my new combo a good workout. I picked up a Daiwa Lexa with the power handle and an 8'6" St. Croix Musky Mojo. For it's size and weight, the Lexa is really powerful. I was ripping 10" Jakes, Perchbaits, Twisted Tubes and Ninjas. It picks up 32" (I think) per turn and really cranked the Perchbaits well. It's a slick little reel. I wouldn't recommend the Lexa for jigging. It doesn't hold a lot of 80-pound Power Pro and I could see getting spooled easily on a snag. I didn't buy it for jigging and it seems to handle what what I want it to well.
Back to the report. We trolled deep in the Triangle and then busted out the Wiley's and hit the weed edges. Carrie popped a 30" on a 5" silver shiner jointed Musky King. We were up from Frenchman's zipping around at 5 MPH upstream when the fish hit.
We cast the cattails and had a nice talk about trolling rods with Carl Schenk.
We trolled down to the Shipyards. After a drift off the weed edge casting down to the bridge, we trolled deeper. Heading out from the gas dock I had something bump my Jake. I trolled back through the area and a 32" smacked my Carpe Diem (Bare Bones custom color, sort of Niagara Walleye / carp on the juice) Carrie was pulling for her second career triple.
We called it at 12:30. Time to nap and then back at it tonight.
