Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Hi folks....fairly new to the group and have what may be a stupid question about the study maps. There are shaded areas on the maps....do these represent "hot spots" for fishing musky?

Thanks!!

Hi Peter,

The maps come from some older local multi-species fishing books. The shaded areas might represent some better fishing areas, but not necessarily for muskies. If you want to determine the "hot spots" (or at least the more popular areas for muskies), check the locations listed on the catch and release reports. Those will give you a pretty good idea.

Hi Tony...thanks for the response. I have certainly been studying the catch and release data. When I saw the shaded areas on the maps I was wondering if maybe they were the "spots on the spot".

Thanks for catch and release docs. They are truly amazing!!!!

Peter
