Sixty four colors were entered in the NMA Hard Bodied Bait Color Tournament and now only two remain.  From the Scime Division and fresh off their trouncing of MacSwan Champion Black, Firetiger takes on the winner of the Page Division, Orange Belly Perch who whipped Jones Division Champion Niagara Walleye.

Here are the two colors' respective roads to the Championship:

Firetiger: Defeated #16 Red Winged Blackbird, #9 Silver Flash, #4 Hot Perch, #2 White Belly Perch, #1 Black.

Orange Belly Perch: Defeated #16 Black Firetail, #8 Glitter Perch, #13 Page Jailbreak, #2 Night Shiner, #1 Niagara Walleye.

One of the advantages of living with me is the ability to vote in the NMA Hard Bodied Bait Color Contest verbally.  I know all of you ladies are out there right now asking yourself, "Where do I sign up?" I have Carrie's vote which doesn't break the tie, she voted days ago.  John Pensyl's vote broke the tie. 

Let's go to the podium...

ESPN 12 announcer Swell Kiper Jr.: "The winner of the NMA Hard Bodied Bait Color Tournament and Champion lure color of the handful of NMA members who voted is..."

(drum roll)

Swell: "The envelope please."

Swell: #1 seed from the Scime Division, FIRETIGER!!!

(release the doves)

(Zoom in to Firetiger cheerleaders (Tony and Jojo) crying and hugging each other)

(Cut to Tom Page throwing his headset)

Swell: Congratulations Firetiger!!!  Get on up here!

Firetiger (I picture a 6'5" inch Perchbait with arms and legs who sounds like Peyton Manning): "I just want to thank orange and green and yellow and black!  I couldn't have done it without you guys!  We did it!!!!  As you know Swell, I have the best fans in the world. This is for you guys!!!"

Swell: "Now that you've won the NMAHBBCT, where are you going?"

Firetiger: "Back in the tackle box!!!"

Well that does it for the NMAHBBCT.  Thank you to everyone who took the seconds out of their days to vote for the past several weeks.  Our next contest will be burger toppings (the early line has cheese beating bacon in the finals), pizza toppings (pepperoni crushes extra cheese) or maybe hard bodied musky baits. (I'd have a soft bodied bait contest, but the outcome is easy; Ninja upsets Monster in the finals.)  Any other ideas?

We all understand the cop out. It probably would have gotten a little "cold" back home after orange belly perch handed Carrie and her beloved firetiger such a humiliating public defeat. Obperch doesn't hold back when it has its own fate in its hands. I would have confidantly predicted a big win. Probably with a musky far surpassing 75 inches!! I just hope all the little obperch will take this "defeat" gracefully, id hate to see them riot and tear this place apart.

Firetiger been very good to me.

But have to admit the first great lure for me at Nipissing was an Orange Belly Perch Old Wooden Bait Pikie.  Caught many and large muskies.
