Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Sat through the rain determined to fish through the new moon underfoot period and hooked into the biggest fish I've had to the boat this season. Knew it was a big fish before I saw it and as it powered toward and under my boat I could see it was a tank. Everything went good, turned the fish upward behind the motor and was able to pressure it back toward me, got the net in and ready, head of the fish over the center of the net so I lifted up and too much fish was still outside the hoop. Fish went nuts thrashing when the net touched its stomach and flopped/slid its way over the top. So much splashing going on I couldn't tell immediately that the fish was off and the pressure on the line was me pulling against the net with the lure attached. Ugh. Set the rod and net down and just sat there floating down the river, smelling the slimed net, reliving in my head, wanting another chance...

I liked the fish tale but not the outcome. A real bummer!

I feel your pain. You'll remember that fish for a long time.

Must be the bum knee. The Carl I know would have tackled that damn fish to get the job done if needed. Lol
The big ones that get away take on a life of their own in your mindseye and dreams, forever.

Ouch.  Sorry to hear.

Sounds like something I would experience in a nightmare, only I might wake up just before the first netting attempt, never knowing the outcome.

Any action out there last night Carl? I was definitely feeling some remorse having to leave when you were just heading out. Especially with that storm just to the north

Yeah Mike, I think you sent some luck along with me..
