Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Wishing Report 8/29/12

Wished the entire top half of the east side of town Wednesday 2-10:30. I love that place and never can find enough time to listen to all the voices over there. One of things I would like to do again this year is get another on the fly. The river and the depth of the voices make it a daunting task, with the exception of the spring time. I did get a solid swing and a hit from Mr Randy Buskie. It was nice to find him, fool him, feel him and get to see the white of his twisting belly. But he did not get the point. It was the only fish I saw except for a bunch perch foollows. They seem to like my Shmo Bunny even if it is bigger then they are?

FYI for all you night owls , keep your eyes open for Crazies. There have been more boats out at night this week and one almost took me out last night. Someone was running up the river and not paying attention, coming straight towards me at "RAMMING SPEED". I made the mistake a of thinking they were going to see me, big mistake. I forgot Shmo Rule # 18 for a minute, "assume nothing" and thought that they would eventually see me. Big mistake. So as I pooped my undies, I was forced to drop my rod and throw the boat into a higher speed in the nick of time. The funny part was they looked at me like what am I doing??? Watch your butt. I did save the rod it luckily caught on the gun wall.

Joe    you need a hi power hand held spot to shine at the a hole who doesn't pay attention. I  used to anchor at nite opposite Mather arch just above the peace bridge.  The yo-yo's speeding home late at night scared me too many times.  I resorted to using a million candlepower spot and it worked but too many close calls for me. I spent more time looking for boats than watching my fishing rod.

Always keep your head on a swivel when fishing at night kids.  Never assume anything.  If you get blasted out there, you don't stand much of a chance.

when I used to fish at nite off Sturgeon Pt, I had to keep my eyes out for the cigar boats coming back from Micky Rats.  That's where you take your life in your hands.  Bows were way up in the air, moving at 60 knots in the dark, & probably having too much to drink, those d-heads don't see a thing.  I carried one of those million, billion, gazillion candle powered search lights & would hit them with the beam when they got close.  They always turned....prob thought I was the cops!!..
