I most assuredly do not want to start a war. However, our permit allows for a weather date. Mother's day is unfortunately our weather date.

Take mom for a lovely brunch on the islands. Whip up Eggs Benedict over crab cakes and follow that with a scrumptious assortment of mini cheesecakes and fresh fruit. If cheesecakes aren't her thing, try strawberry shortcake served over freshly baked pound cake with delicious homemade whipped cream. I suggest pairing the meal with Mimosas made with Prosecco. (Fresh squeezed orange juice only, please.) If mom is looking for a bigger kick try one of my famous Chocolate Coffee Ether Bombs. Mix two parts Extreme Chocolate Milk, one part Bailey's Irish Cream, one part Kailua with two parts Three Olives Espresso Vodka in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into in a chilled martini glass. Garnish with dark chocolate shavings. For the "bomb" part of the cocktail, make a whistling sound decreasing in pitch while dropping peanut M&M's into the beverage while serving. Ether optional. Whatever you serve, I'm sure mom will have a blast cleaning the islands.

BS aside, maybe we can move the date, but that will be up to the DEC, the state and Jojo.

Bill...for the years I went here's what I brought:

Heavy work gloves, wore long sleeve shirt, long pants, wide brimmed hat, Mucks or hiking boots, sunscreen, bug spray and a couple of bottles of water. You'll be able to bring a small backpack in which to put your stuff.

If the forecast looks like rain, bring rain gear.

When picking up trash a plastic jar with lid, like a peanut butter jar, is handy for putting in broken pieces of glass. The jar will keep the glass from slicing the trash bag.

For tools I would bring Knipex for cutting metal fencing, pliers for bending & a couple of people would usually bring loppers for cutting finger sized branches.

Jojo always brought contractor's trash bags & zip-ties

and if you have any meds for an emergency, like an Epi-pen, make sure somebody else besides you knows where it is so they can get to it, if needed. Otherwise, I would bring a personal supply of bandages and gauze. Never needed them but you never know
