Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

It was a day of seconds and inches.  One hundred and twenty seconds after I talked to a member about jumping on today, Josh Ketry called me to see if I needed a partner.  I've been meaning to fish with Josh for years, so we headed out at 2:30 PM for a little casting and trolling.  We spent all of our time in UN2 and 3.

On my second cast with a golden sucker Perchbait I had a nice follow in the high 30, low 40 inch range.  On our second drift in front of Strawberry, Josh landed a clean 39" cast jigging a white Bondy Bait.

After another drift where Josh had a follow, we tried our second option, trolling.  We tried deep in front of Strawberry with no takers.  Josh and I love to troll shallow, so troll shallow we did.  On our second weedbed with his second lure choice out five seconds, Josh popped a very thick and very feisty 42" female trolling a Dadson Blade.  The picture doesn't do her justice.  When I first saw her I thought she was mid-forties.  Great fish.

Josh promised Julie he's be home for dinner (Hi Julie!) so I dropped him off and ventured out solo for my second angler diary study submission.

It was a perfect night to fish.  Light winds.  Warm.  I all I needed was a fish to cooperate.  I started in the Triangle and didn't like what I saw.  Nothing.  It was a ghost town.  I tried a little casting.  It was one of those nights where the cloud cover reflected most of the light from the I-190, which makes it a lot easier to cast and figure 8.  Big surprise, I didn't catch or see anything.

I trolled deep and shallow again in front of Strawberry and I was just about to run to the Huntley to cast, when I decided to give this troll another second.  On a lure stall behind a hump, a 39" blasted my black and silver Storm Giant Flatstick.  The lure was back 70-feet.

Great day on the water and Josh we'll have to get out again.  We always seemed to catch fish near each others boats in the past, so it was nice to actually have it happen in the same ride.

Good luck everyone.

Thanks for taking me out Scott!  We will have to do it a "second" time soon!

Oh and Julie says "Hi Scott!"

When you troll with twin 10s do you clip a Weight on the leader to keep them down??

Great day of fishing!  Scott you have now seen firsthand that Josh has major Musky Karma surrounding him.  Every time he gets on your boat good things are going to happen.  Most of my favorite moments musky fishing have occurred with his aura surrounding the boat.  He may be the chosen one.

He's got a whole zen approach to musky that's for sure.  I get too wound up and pissed off when the bite is tough at times.  I think I could use a few more Josh lessons in just letting "it" happen.

We were flat lining them John. I noticed a lot of line twist which is a no no.  I took off the leader and let out line with the boat in gear when we were done trolling.  In the future I will use a Jojo ball or in-line weight to eliminate line twist and keep the lures down with less line out.  One of my down rods this year will be a double 10.  It couldn't hurt my chances for a pig.

At 4MPH I had mine back 45+ to keep the big blades down.  I was holding my rod in a seated position.  Josh's fish smacked his with only 25 feet of line out, but he was standing holding his rod with the tip buried.  The fish hit seconds after he let it out.  Jay Nannen might be right.
