Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

Bruce and I fished the river for bass for a few hours this afternoon before lunch, which I'll get to later in the report.

Bruce played captain today.  One of my eyes is fixed, but the other is still broken so I thought it prudent to have Bruce wheel since I see double of everything. If it was triple of everything I'd be fine. I'd just aim for the object in the middle.

We drop shot for almost two whole hours before a brief storm blew through and we got hungry.  Grand Island got soaked.  It seemed the worst part of the storm was almost entirely directly above us, but it was nice everywhere else upstream. We were going to take a few drifts in UN2 after running up from 4, but we quit once we heard thunder like all good little boys and girls should.

We caught eight bass, all drop shotting.  The fish seemed to be hugging structure in shallow water.  I caught my fish on a silver paddle-tailed ribbed gooey thing they don't make anymore and Bruce caught his fish on Zoom Fat Alberts, because Bruce always catches all of his drop shot fish on Zoom Fat Alberts.

If we had brought lunch, we probably would have fished longer, but the Swannie House was calling us, metaphorically.  If you want the best, and I mean the very best (trust me, fat guys know) wings in the city, head to the Swannie.  Start off with their big salad before your wings arrive.  The place never, ever disappoints.  We didn't have Aurora with us today, but doggies are always welcomed on their patio.

Here's a fish we caught.  Nothing huge, but fun nonetheless.  Back out next week with two functioning eyes, which has to be viewed as a huge win for me and especially for other boaters.  Good luck out there, team.
