Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

The weirdest thing happened tonight.  Bruce and I went musky fishing.  We fished from 8 to 11pm in UN 13, 2 and 3.

The last time we fished for muskies we were fishing Lake Nipissing, although not at the same time.  I think we had to get Nipissing out of our systems so we trolled shallow from Beaver to Strawberry with Aurora Borealis spinnerbaits.

Once we reached Strawberry we kept pulling them until we moved deeper. Then we switched to a more conventional spread with Bruce pulling a Believer and me pulling a Fretthold 7" Cuda.

All of our presentations failed, but we had a nice time listening to the Yankees beat the Guardians, which was unfortunate, and enjoying the remaining sausages from our trip lunch we crushed while watching the Phillies initially crush and then hold on for the win against the Braves.

What's a trip lunch?  A lunch that mimics a fishing trip lunch, usually grilled meats and Brunner's Mac salad, which is the greatest mac salad ever.  If you don't believe me give it a try yourself.  Here's a few hints, top the salad with a little Sriacha hot sauce and forget a spoon.  Scoop the stuff with potato chips. Dynamite.

With our new Garmin 9" super thingy fish finder slash GPS I didn't even care we were skunked.  I have a new hobby that goes better with musky fishing than peanut butter does with jelly and bread.  Mapping.  Mapping is a blast.  You troll and the electronic gizmo maps the bottom contours for you.  It's like space age voodoo.  I know I'm behind the times big time, but mapping is fun, fun, fun.  I felt like Amerigo Vespucci out there.  So what we got skunked.  It seemed like we accomplished something.  Bruce was far less excited about the mapping, but thrilled with the leftover sausages leaving him also feeling like we accomplished something.  If you don't have a mapping thingy, make sure your next unit has the option.  Bruce would like to suggest that you give Niagara Produce's bratwurst with cheese a shot.  They are wonderful.  Maybe as wonderful as mapping.  Well, let's just say mapping is a close second.

The water was 59 degrees and change.  The clarity was great.  The moon was huge.  Mapping is wonderful.  The air temps were in the high 50's.  We were both very comfortable in shorts.  It was great musky fishing again.  I'll be out more and more now, at least when I don't mind listening instead of watching a playoff game.  Must be fall.  Play ball.  Batter up.
