Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all. Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

I have to admit, I love musky fishing when the air temperature drops in the fall. I love fishing in the cold, but I don't enjoy being cold. I have a magnificent collection of cold weather gear that keeps me warm and fishing.
My hands suck. They get cold very quickly and they ache and fail. Much of my gear is geared toward keeping my hands warm.
I wear fingerless gloves when I'm casting or checking lines, etc. and huge mittens stuffed with chemical hand warmers over the fingerless gloves when I'm trolling. I keep a stock of fingerless gloves and I change them out whenever they get wet. I recently purchased the Simms Gore-tex Infinium 1/2 finger glove.
This latest purchase makes four pairs of Simms fingerless. Each successive Simms purchase proved to be better than the last.
Until now.
This new Simms offering looks the part, but I've found them to be inferior to the last two iterations. Simms eliminated a key component -- the hand warmer pouch -- and reduced the amount of interior fleece making these gloves far less warm than their predecessors.
The new gloves are still windproof and grip well, but they miss the ball on the chief reason to wear gloves, warmth.
I have been a huge fan of Simms clothing for years and years. It's disappointing to tell you these gloves are a bust, especially when you consider their price tag. If you are looking for a pair of fingerless fishing gloves look elsewhere.
