Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all. Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Good Day Team
This is what I call the "Contradiction of Musky Fishing"... our fishermen's dilemma that we love our musky but we do accidentally kill some. When I started fishing for Musky I would get 10- 15 a year , which corresponds to me killing about one fish a year? Accidental Angler Release Mortality to around 20-30 % which means we might kill 2-3 out of 10. If we are careful we can hope that we get a better survival rate down to 10 % but that still means we might be killing 1 out of 10.
This took some time for me to accept? I came to the conclusion that it is a fact of Musky fishing and it now my place to do as much as I can to preserve the species I love. One of reasons for doing as much as I can for the club, for the DEC, and the fishery. Most of all I spread the word at shows, fairs, and stores about CPR. Catch , Photo, Release as fast as we can. LET THE WORLD KNOW the proper gear when Musky fishing. Heavy gear, solid steel big net, knipex, jaw spreaders, long long nose, and how to use them well and fast. Along with having camera ready, rookies ready, and gear ready. We all know the drill but it also our job to spread the word to those that do not.
Ask not what can the river do for me,
Ask what can I do for the river...
