Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

  1. I Got distracted at work and started looking through some baits. I came across these and realized I never run yellow bellied baits. I always lean towards white or orange bellies. Does anyone favor yellow bellies? Is there a time and place? Or maybe just a confidence thing?
  2. Great meeting lastnight!

Most of the baits I run are "yellow bellied" since they scurry away from fights with muskies, avoiding them whenever possible, but I don't actively fish any that are painted as such.

I, like you, always tend to fish baits with orange or white bellies, although I did have a 10" Jake with a yellow belly, albeit a skinny belly since it was a Jake, that caught a bunch of fish years ago, but I'd bet that was because the Huntley was pumping out warm water and the basking muskies would smack anything.

As far as time and a place, maybe around perch schools. Anyone else have any input?
Laz's top color for 50lbrs the past 20 years has been legend walleye. That bait is known as "king" for good reason.
