Bald Eagle nest on Strawberry has babies

Good Day

Not exactly a fishing report but a river report. Strawberry Island now has "officially nesting"  Bald Eagles nesting with nestlings  in the nest. I was talking to Connie Adams with the DEC  aka " the bird lady" about doing the trash pick ups on the islands when she told me. She said we have to stay 300 feet away from the tree and that they have to put up a perimeter  of signs to keep the public away. Then I asked if we could do it and she is checking with Ken R.. As soon as she gets back to me I will set the date for the clean up as early as this Sunday4/21/13 at 9  at Sheridan ramp.

Anyone planning on coming will need their own gloves rubber or leather, (we are picking up garbage), boots,  possible rain gear and please bring your own PFD. Our shuttle USS Latko  may not have enough.

This is only penciled in till I hear from Connie. I will post notice when certain.

I'm sure you wouldn't want to get too close to their nest anyway.  They mean business when it comes to protecting their young and I'm sure they can cause some serious damage.

Any bets on who will find the first pair of ladies panties?  We all know who has the nose for it.  Maybe the eagles already used them for nesting material.
