Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you for the kind newsletter article. You make me sound quite heroic. Actually, it wasn't really heroic at all. It was a team effort. First, I have to give the most credit to Andy Lacko, who's…Read More

fishing/underwater report

My week of staycation is coming to a close. I thought i'd do a brief report. Fished the opener with 2 friends. only one lazy follow. Monday it was lake Erie. The wind was up, so we fished inside Donnelley's. this produced 10 smallish smallmouth. The wind allowed us to fish the main lake on Tuesday. It was mud out for a couple miles. Went out deep and dragged worm harnesses. This produced only white perch.

Stayed home and did chores on Wednesday. Thursday was Lake Ontario for trout…

Good luck to everyone. I hope to get a couple good friends into fish on this opener. It would make me happier than hooking up myself. We will be fishing out of the sheridan launch. Due to conditions, we have not been underwater yet. I hope to get some video soon.

Was that one of our guys who found the cadaver near Beaver Island marina? They showed a blue Starcraft on the news. I thought of our guys right away. You see duck and musky hunters out there this time of year, and not many others.

A friend and I headed to a Lake Ontario trib. after work. We had heard that there were a decent amount of steelies in.

We arrived and found the creek high and Lightly stained. We hit some known hot spots, and found we could indeed see fish. I worked a gravel section, and Joe was working just above me to some rather sizable dark shadows. We were going through our fly boxes, trying to find the answer. After about an hour, I caught a 3lb male on a #10 hare's ear.

Joe's drift was…

Jim...Thanks for the thought of nomination for the Board but it all depends on how the fishing goes at the Oak Sunday.  I'm taking that long ride based on your report.  If I do good, I'll accept.  If I don't, I don't (ha! ha!).  You might want to dust off your scuba tanks & put a couple of fish on my hooks for me (I won't look).  I'm always appreciative of a little help on the streams!  see ya' at the meeting..jj

Jim...have you been up to the Oak yet?  I'm going to try it there this weekend.  In the Southtowns, 18 mi & Sisters were blown out.  Maybe in a couple of days.  the rain always brings the fresh ones in.

Jim; It looks like the video has something to do with your bold opening day prediction.  When I tried to play the video. there was a message saying "this video is private" and it would not play.
