Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

Took my friend Jim, visiting from Denver, bass fishing yesterday, after the deluge. It was actually pretty nice out. But the bass fishing sucked. Did catch a few out in the lake, including a nice 19.5 inch by Jim. Tried the river for a while but got skunk. That never, ever used to happen. But I think the weather pattern had a lot to do with that. Deep, stagnent, low pressure warm fronts always seem to suppress the bite.

With water temps getting so high (these are record high water temps), I'm going to have to hone my bass fishing skills.

If you fish for muskies, DO NOT take the fish out of the water. In fact, avoid netting them if you can.

Do you drop-shot for them? Do you ever do a fast troll with a plug?

Mostly drop-shot. Sometimes cast. Rarely troll. Although a fast troll in warm water sounds like a good idea. But I have more fun casting and drop-shotting.

Tony...I worked with a guy who mostly speed trolled for bass, especially when the fishing was slow. His thinking was that when you were fishing slow you would only get fish that were on the feed. When you were speed trolling, you would get a "reaction strike", which had nothing to do with being hungry. The lure whizzed by & the fish struck
