Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Good Day Boys

Calling all hands on deck for the Beaver Patrol this Wednesday 7-9 pm. There are many more trees on Strawberry to wrap with wire, then Frank or I thought. Last week we were able to wrap some trees and use almost 100 feet of wire.  We hope to do as well this week and would like some more helpers to do what we can this week and next. Especially another boat/ taxi.

Thanks to the six members that did come out to help. The NMA has over a hundred members and we get less then 10 %  to come out and help. I think we can do better, because "you can always do better...".

Do not forget to wear long pants, boots, bug spray, wire cutters and tape measure if you can. The Strawberry Patch is like a trip to Jurassic  Park these days, big canopy of trees, huge plants, giant birds and an inspiring river.

jojo...I'll be there at 6:30 to get a jump on things, if I can.  In addition to bringing the things you mentioned, I'm also bringing a dry change of clothes for after, i.e. sneakers, socks, & a towel or blanket to sit on in the car.  I'll keep those in the car in case the clothes I'm wearing get wet like they did last week.

I also had on gaitors to tighten up the bottom of my pant legs (in case of ticks, a light long sleeve shirt, a poly T-shirt (to help with the sweatin'), and a hat to keep the branches from digging in my head.  I've also got a cloth tape measure, the loppers, and Nipex for the actual work.

I know last week was a good shakedown & I sure learned a lot.  Jurassic Park is a playground compared to the foliage there, but working out on the island was worth every minute...jj

JOHN I WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW NITE.  LAST WEEK I BROUGHT MY GRANDSON. TOMORROW I WILL BE JOINED BY MY SON-IN-LAW. I GOT A CALL FROM THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL.  THEY WANT TO DO AN EPISODE OF "NAKED AND AFRAID", FEATURING THE NMA BEAVER HUNTERS. IF WE ARE ALL NAKED, WHERE EXACTLY DO WE KEEP OUR PHOTO ID? ( DON'T ANSWER THAT)

ALL KIDDING ASIDE, WE NEED MORE HELP.

Free to all volunteers who show up Wednesday:  Great views; good companionship; some laughs; weight loss; a feeling of accomplishment; and, the right to tell no-shows that you helped.

I have to work back in Otisville tomorrow night, 6 hour drive, but I'm there for only 4 days and I'll be back in town with a few days off. If the project goes another week you can count me and my boat in for next time. I'll do my best to find a couple recruits as well.
I will be there tomorrow night...I thought I could take my boat hiwever I will be leaving right from work....I will b there tho!! Anyone have an extra set of wire cutters

"NAKED AND AFRAID."  Are you sure it wasn't for the show "NAKED AND A GOOD LAUGH"?  BTW, Frank, did your grandson use your camera to take the group pic or, if it was his camera, did he send it to someone (you, Scott, jojo?) so it can go in the next newsletter?

Even last week, other than marching thru the boonies, the work wasn't that bad once everyone found their niche.  Your grandson & I were lopping branches & getting the trees prep'd for caging, John Miller & Bernie were cutting wire to length, & you & Carl were measuring & installing the barriers. It almost looked like we knew what we were doing (ha! ha!)

With enough people there, we all got into a rhythm & could accomplish a whole lot more with only a few more people.  The nice thing is that everyone doesn't have to do everything, with enough people there.  You only have to do one job & it's a big, big help to the crew.

Besides that, the muskies will love that you're saving their habitat, and one of these days you'll be rewarded with the catch of your life...guaranteed!!!!

I come with three cutters

Mike da BBB...I'll have my Nipex with me & you can use those.  I'll be busy measuring & lopping, then I'll yell the measurements back to you & you cut away.  It'll go a lot quicker that way.

no problem at all. frank be careful what you wish for!!! ill be naked and everyone will be afraid lol c u tomorrow

just an FYI.  The attendant at the launch's shack told us last week that if we come again we'll all have to park in the parking lot at the entrance.  Some of us got a reprieve last week & he let us park in the corner of the trailer lot, but because of the number of cars, we'll need to be at the lot near River Rd.

the attendant also told me that when he closes up the shack, he's not around to fend off any police who might show up in case they want to write a ticket.  see ya' this evening...jj

I will be bringing my grandson David again, as well as his dad, my son-in-law Shawn Filion, a Customs employee. Looks like I owe a few dinners after this.

We need boats. Come on guys, pretend we are the troops in Dunkirk in WWII.
