Images

Keep in mind that I am always looking for images for our newsletter; fish, sunsets, sunrises, other anglers fishing, equipment, anything fishing related. I can use them all.  Large, unedited images are best. Thanks.

Thank you, Jay!

Sometimes it's the little decisions that make all the difference.  For example, my brother and I were casting near Strawberry this afternoon.  We hadn't seen a fish and decided to fish the beach.  Instead of running there, we trolled.  On the way I caught a buskie on a Storm Giant Flatstick in gold shiner. The fish hit in twelve feet of water and I had 20 feet of line out.

After half muskie, half bass fishing for the rest of the daylight, I dropped Bruce off at Sheridan and was waiting for Joe Wilczewski to jump on board.  I trolled a bit and kept getting weeded up quickly in UN3.  I had another ten minutes to kill before Jojo was ready, so I decided to cast.  On my second or third chuck above the Huntley water releases, I caught a 39" fat female on a Storm Giant Flatstick in black and silver.

I was going to run to the beach on Strawberry, but decided to troll there.  Fish.  I was trolling back to my marina, but decided to stop and cast.  Fish.  Sometimes the little decisions make your day.

Joe and I pounded the Triangle and Shipyards most of the evening.  I did manage to catch a psycho smallmouth in UN13 on a Depthraider in sucker trolled at 4MPH around 9:30.  That was it for fish.  The water temp in the Shipyards was a full degree colder than UN2.  The light fog rolling in from the shallow water made for a surreal troll.  The wind was dead calm.  The calm before the storm I guess.

Back out tomorrow in the maelstrom.  Want to go for a ride (if it gets as windy as the weather people think it will, I'll be trolling all day)?  Shoot me a message.  It should be interesting out there.

Once the river turns to mud do you think it will be good conditions for noodling?? I saw the guys on hillbilly handfishin do pretty good in the mud. Maybe I should start scouting out some prime musky holes to stick my arm into.
