Fishing Report - 11/30 Part II

Joe Wilczewski said he was feeling like a wimp all day for not fishing the closer.  I didn't want to get off the River this afternoon to go to work and felt I had some unfinished business with her.  After a phone call where we both tried to talk each other out of going and into going every other sentence, we hit the Strait around 9:15 PM.   We started trolling in the canal until we saw smoke coming from that industrial structure in UN4.  We pulled lines and zipped down river.  There Jojo put on a gizzard shad catching display that may never be repeated.  He hooked up with three or four every other cast it seemed, and landed one monster that I think may have ripped some drag.  The Bull Dawg he was using is on its way to the IGFA as I write this.  We interspersed trolling and casting to allow for our hands to warm up until Jojo and I made our last casts for the 2012 campaign in the upper Niagara River at 11:59 PM.  We figure-8'd until Midnight and then called it a season.  We didn't catch any muskies and we didn't see any either.  We had the River to ourselves, we had a big moon overhead, and while it was briskly cold out there, we endured and we fished.  That's what we do.

I planned on fishing yesterday and had the boat ready to go but woke up with a double ear infection. My season ended like it began....with a whimper. Things will be different in 2013.
