July 26 report

Fished the upper river 6:30 to 10:30 this morning. First trolled the east river. Decided to stick to Tonylures. I used to fish them almost exclusively a couple decades ago and looking at some of the old release records reminded me of that. So I took a couple more out of retirement. Two rods down the east river (I like that). One my reliable gold, the second a beat-up perch which I caught a 48 incher on a long time ago. A 7:45 am, half way down UN5 the perch caught a 36 incher. Took a couple more passes without anything more. Still can't catch a fish after 8am.

Took some tube casts in UN2 where I spoke with Bob Hey and Riley Vacinek. They both had some action. Bob caught one and had a few follows. All in the 30s.

Bob caught a couple casting yesterday, too, and had like 5 other follows. So there has been some activity the past couple days. Mostly sub-40 inchers. Early mornings seem to be best.

So far three follows (one 40+) and two brief hookups and mid 30s. All on tr Canadian side from the peace bridge down to miller in all depths
